18 Wine Calibration Live Course (with Jim Gore)

If you’ve already purchased the 18 Wine Calibration Pack — either from our UK website or from Kate Wardell via Vinitude for EU delivery — this live course is your opportunity to upgrade your experience and learn directly with Jim Gore DipWSET in a focused, small-group setting.
This live-taught, four-session course turns your calibration pack into a powerful preparation tool for WSET Diploma Unit D3.
What’s Included:
4 x 2-hour Live Zoom Sessions
Wines 1–12 will be tasted in themed flights during four structured classes. Jim will lead detailed discussions focused on calibration, comparison, and Diploma-level analytical thinking. Each session includes activities to sharpen tasting structure and exam confidence.
Pre-Course Activity Booklet
A week before the course starts, you’ll receive a guided self-study booklet with tasting exercises and calibration activities. These tasks are designed to be completed before or during the course to help reinforce the learning objectives.
Mock Exam Tasting + Feedback
Wines 13–15 are used for a mock exam. You’ll submit your tasting notes to Jim for personalised feedback.
- Wines 16–18 are a bonus blind flight, ideal for last-minute revision and self-marked to build confidence under timed conditions.
Group Tasting Projects
You'll take part in collaborative tasting assignments that explore key variety, region, and country conclusions. These exercises result in two shared summary documents – often over 10,000 words – which are a vital revision resource for all participants.
Class WhatsApp Group
A dedicated WhatsApp group allows quick access to Jim, class peers, and ongoing discussion. This real-time support has become one of the most appreciated features of the course.
