BUILD SKILL, BUILD LOGIC, BUILD CONFIDENCE TO BECOME AN MW

Christine Marsiglio MW and Jim Gore Dip WSET will help you step up from the Diploma and guide you on your MW journey

MW TASTING AND ANALYSIS ONLINE

Christine and Jim have worked together to create an online educational experience that will allow you to work at your own pace, master new skills, and apply them to improve your Master of Wine Practical Exam technique.

This is a stand-alone course based on variety and region. In an online video, Christine, the 2019 Bollinger Medal Winner, and Jim discuss tasting calibration, explore practical examination question styles, and walk you through how to get as many points as possible in the practical examination.

Who is it for?

MW Students of all levels who would like help with their Practical Exam skills

People interested in the MW who want to learn how to taste and analyse like a Master of Wine.

When is it?

The course video will be available from 25th November. Students can complete the video and offline sessions at their convenience any time after that.

Other stand-alone bookable sessions will be added 2021 and will focus on other question types, e.g. commercial, quality, wine-making.

The Detail

This is an online course that has been designed by experienced educators to make the most of the online education format. It is not a 12 wine timed paper. It is an immersive educational experience with a mock exam portion to test the new skills that you have learned. You will be expected, during the course of the videos, to step off and revise specific elements assigned to you and then to resume the online session.

Working together, we will build your Master of Wine exam skills and you will learn how to get the most out of the wines that you come across during your MW journey.

We want you to know and understand the race you’ve entered, and we will help train you to win that race.

How it works

Christine and Jim, have recorded training sessions with two MW students which you will be able to access through Zoom. The total recorded time of the video is five hours, and there are four hours of offline tasting and research activities for students. Please note, however, that depending on how many tasks you undertake, including mock exams, between the video sessions, the total work time could be up to 8 hours. The equivalent timing is similar to participating in a course spanning one working day.

There are two options, a video only option, and a video + twelve 100 mL wine sample option*.

Once you have registered you will have access to the video for 6 weeks.

If you have chosen the video only option we will send you a suggested wine list. It will be your responsibility to make sure the wines are sourced and poured blind, we find having a friendly helper incredibly useful.
